Date set for crime & ASB follow-up meeting

At our meeting in June, more than 100 city centre businesses voiced their concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Promises of action were made by the authorities.

Newport Now BID and Newport Business Against Crime said we would arrange a follow-up meeting following the summer holiday period.

That meeting has now been arranged for Wednesday, September 30. It will take place at the Mercure Newport on Upper Dock Street from 4pm to 6pm.

All city centre businesses are invited to attend. Gwent Police, Newport City Council and other relevant agencies and partners have also been invited to attend to respond to your concerns.

Our Street Ambassadors will be delivering physical invitations to businesses over the next few days, to ensure those without email access are also aware of the meeting.

Your fellow BID members at the Mercure are again providing free room hire for the meeting, and we would encourage you to purchase tea and coffee at the hotel to acknowledge this.

Please RSVP to kevin@kevinwardmedia.com by 5pm on Wednesday, September 23, to enable us to manage numbers.

We look forward to seeing you there.
