First BID levy payers' open meeting of 2025 set for March 20

Newport Now BID's first levy payers' open meeting of the year will take place on Thursday, March 20.

The meeting, which will include the BID's 2025 annual general meeting, will take place at the Mercure Hotel on Upper Dock Street, with welcome drinks from 5.30pm and the AGM starting at 6pm prompt.

The open meeting will follow, at which there will be presentations from the BID, Gwent Police and Newport City Council.

The meeting is open to all BID levy payers. To help us with planning the evening, please let us know by March 6 whether you will be attending. Details of how to do this are included in the invitation above.

Business at the AGM will be voted on by a show of hands. You must be a BID levy payer to vote. The formal notice of the AGM has been sent to levy payers via email but can also be found here.

The AGM will also include the election of the BID's volunteer board of directors for our third 5-year term, which starts on April 1 and runs until March 31, 2030.

At the end of each of the BID's 5-year terms, all members of our volunteer board of directors are required to stand down. They can stand again for the board at the AGM, as can any BID levy payer. Information about our current board members can be found by clicking here.

If you are a levy payer and would like to express an interest in standing for the board, please contact BID manager Kevin Ward via email - kevin@kevinwardmedia.com

Nominations for election to the board at the March 20 AGM must be confirmed with Kevin by 5pm on Wednesday, March 5.

More details on both meetings will follow in the coming weeks. If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact Kevin.
