Newport Now BID is renewing its sponsorship of Newport Food Festival again this year - continuing BID support for the event for a 10th year.
This year's Food Festival takes place on Saturday, October 3rd, and the BID’s sponsorship will give all city centre businesses the opportunity to play a part in the hugely-popular event in a variety of ways, from providing food and drink samples to visitors to bringing their shopfronts outside (within licensed areas and by application), and from having offers and loyalty deals on the Newport Now app to taking advantage of an in-store promotional toolkit.
In previous years, the BID has sponsored elements of the festival such as the chef demonstrations.
This year, our sponsorship is providing our members with the opportunity play a part in the festival to ensure it is an event for the whole city centre.
Via an expression of interest form you can find by clicking here, city centre businesses can bring their shopfronts outside for the day of the festival (within licensed areas and by application process).
So, hospitality businesses could:
Set up sampling stations
Offer Festival specials and tasting plates
Showcase their capabilities and facilities
Retailers could have:
Product displays outside stores
Festival-themed offers and merchandising
Service sector businesses could offer:
Competitions and giveaways
Interactive activities to encourage engagement
In additional to this, we will be making a free Food Festival toolkit available to city centre businesses. This will include:
Ready-prepared social media posts & guidance
Discount and offer templates
'Save the Date' content
Newport Food Festival and Newport Now logos
'Official supporter of Newport Food Festival' window vinyls
Eye-catching posters for your shopfronts
Counter cards with QR codes directing visitors to the official Food Festival website
Via the Newport Now app, we will also be running a family-friendly interactive trail on the day of the Food Festival, encouraging visitors to track down QR codes hidden across the city centre to win prizes including a food hamper and Newport Now gift cards.
There will also be a Newport Now hub in Newport Market during the Food Festival, where will be promoting the city centre app and the gift card to visitors.
Make sure your business is on the app and accepts the gift card to take full advantage.
More details will follow over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, please download and complete the expression of interest form and return it to vanessa.archer@newport.gov.uk by September 4th.
